The Eastern Connecticut Conference held its final meeting of the 2023/2024 school year. We honored two long-time Athletic Directors who proudly served their schools and the ECC. We will miss Ellen Turner (Wheeler H.S.) and Sue Griffin (St. Bernard). Best of luck in your retirement!

Wheeler Girls' Lacrosse

Wheeler won against Bacon Academy during their last game of the regular season on Wednesday, with a final score of 15-8. The girls will now await the dates for ECC tournament play, followed by State tournament play.

Wheeler beat Killingly during their "Senior Game" on Monday, with a final score of 14-4. With this win Wheeler secured themselves as the ECC Division III champions. Congratulations ladies!

Wheeler Girls' Lacrosse

The Wheeler girls defeated Griswold Thursday night under the lights with a final score of 15-7. The girls worked together and fought hard for this win.

Naomi Boord- 3 goals

Katie Pierce and Kathryn DelGrosso both added 1 goal a piece.

Highlights from our first meet with Griswold & Killingly. It was out of division so no overall team scores.

Boys Highlights: 

Kiyle Montigny- 2nd in 100m with a time of 11.6

Tyler Scarchilli- 3rd in 100m time of 11.7 

 

Scarchilli- 2nd in 200m time of 23.7 

Monitgny- 3rd  in 200m time of 23.8

 

Cole Dubios- 1st in the 400m time of 55.2

Drew Deary- 2nd in the 400m time of 57

​

 

Girls Highlights: 

1st in the 4X800 relay- Sophie Zichichi, Kylie Melia, Carissa Browne, Kaitlyn Kumpf 

Kaitlyn Kumpf-1st in the 1600 time 5:40

Kylie Melia- 1st in 400 time of 1:10

Sophie Zichichi- 1st in 3200 time of 13:19

Arianna Page- 1st in discus
